A. Catherine Krahn, age 98, passed away Wednesday morning, October 6, 2010. She was born May 8, 1912, daughter of the late Adam and Fanny (Smith) Rodel.
Catherine had taught school for many years and was named Wisconsin's Rural Teacher of the Year in 1966. She was active in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 4-H and other civic activities. Catherine's enjoyment came from her family, teaching and her flowers.
She is survived by her children: Phyllis (Dennis) Gillespie; Jim (Marie) Krahn, Donna Wendelburg; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; daughter, Helen and grandson, Gregory.
Friends may call at Emmanuel Lutheran church, Seymour on Sunday, October 10, 2010 from 1 PM until funeral services at 3 PM with Pastor Roland Lindeman officiating. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com .
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
