Albert P. Ashmann, age 88, of Seymour passed away early Friday morning, November 11, 2011 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour. He was born February 17, 1923 son of the late Paul Sr. and Martha (Court) Ashmann in the Town of Center.
Albert enlisted in the US Army in 1943 and served during WW II. He was a member of the American Legion for more than 60 years.
On December 3, 1947 he was united in marriage to Joyce Pohl. She preceded him in death on December 26, 2001.
Al and Joyce farmed in rural Isaar for almost 50 years before retiring to Seymour.
Al was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour and was a charter member of the Brotherhood men's group.
He was a Brewers and Packers fan, and a huge fan of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his son, Tim (Debbie) Ashmann, Green Bay; daughter, Gerre Revels, Black Creek; 4 grandchildren: Heather (Bill) Trost, De Pere; Amanda Ashmann, Green Bay; Patrick Revels, Black Creek; Angela Ashmann, Green Bay; 3 great grandchildren: Madelynn Trost, Julia Rosario, and Max Ashmann; sisters-in-law: Margaret Ashmann and Vera Ashman, both of Seymour. Further survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; 3 brothers: Elmer, Walter, Paul; a sister, Erna; a son-in-law, Clint Revels; sister-in-law, Peg Gosse.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 4-8 PM and on Monday, November 14, 2011 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, from 9:30 AM until services at 11:00 AM with Pastor Roland Lindeman officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery with military honors.
