Allen R. Burmeister, age 63, of Seymour passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born October 20, 1950 to the late Ray and Dorothy (Gagnow) Burmeister. In 1969 he graduated from Shiocton High School.
Al was united in marriage to Diane Schwister on August 4, 1979 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Black Creek. Diane preceded him in death on February 16, 2008.
Al had an intricate role with his work at Seymour Dairy Products and was vital to the success of the cheese factory.
He was an avid bass fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors as much as possible whether it was hunting, trapping, or gardening. Al was one of the original members of the Wolf River Bass Club.
Al is survived by his siblings: Myrtle (Louis) Kutchenriter, Clintonville; Oliver Burmeister, Shawano; Ivan (Shirley) Burmeister, Marion; Linda (Alan) Stuart, Hortonville; Lyle (Alice) Burmeister, Black Creek; Aaron (Sue) Burmeister, Seymour; and Dennis (Doris) Burmeister, Black Creek. He is further survived by a sister-in-law Nancy Bruhn, Appleton; and brother-in-law Carl Jr. (Traci) Schwister, Seymour; and also survived by a special niece, Brooke; special nephew, Kevin; many other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, Al was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Gladys Schwister; and brother-in-law, Gordon L. Bruhn.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 9 am until the funeral service at 11 am with Pastor Rebecca Henry officiating. Burial will take place at the Oak Hill Cemetery in the Town of Maine. Online condolences may be expressed at
