Allen W. Hopkins, 69, of Black Creek passed away unexpectedly due to an accident Tuesday evening, June 5, 2012. He was born March 5, 1943 son of the late Fayette and Betty (Holmberg) Hopkins. On June 15, 1963 he was united in marriage to Rose Motts.
Al was self-employed and a past manager of the New London Coop. and worked for Beemis Corporation. He loved his family and the time spent with his grandchildren. Hunting, fishing, cycling, four wheeling, camping, gardening, football, card playing and attending a good auction were some of his favorite past times.
Survivors include his wife, Rose; children: Shelly (Paul) Matuszak, Oneida, Todd (Kim) Hopkins, Seymour; 5 grandchildren: Jamie Mohnen, Christina (Mark) Stordeur, Courtnie and Josh Hopkins, Noelle Matuszak; 4 great grandchildren: Christian, Mario, Kailey and Sierra; 3 sisters: Shirley Spychalla, Appleton; Merilan Young, Antigo; Betty (Dick) Krohn, Rhinelander; a brother, Pat Hopkins, Antigo
He is preceded in death by 2 sisters: Faye and Phyllis; 2 brothers: Gary and Lee
There will be a gathering at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Sunday, June 10, 2012 from 4-8 PM and on Monday, June 11, 2012 from 9:00 AM until memorial services at 10:30 AM with Pastor Roland Lindeman officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com
