Alvin T. Van Lanen, 85, of Oneida, passed away Wednesday morning, February 17, 2016 at Sun Valley Homes II Pines in Pulaski. He was born December 26, 1930, son of the late Albert and Lucy (Wallenfang) Van Lanen.
He was united in marriage to Ruth Philipsen on May 16, 1953.
Alvin loved farming and his trucking business. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, snowmobiling, and their cottage up north at Wheeler Lake.
Survived by his wife, Ruth; three daughters: Judy (Chris Wagner) Sigl, Gillett; Joan (Steve Cerveny) Pingel, Shawano; Janet (Dennis) Kohn, Gillett; two sons, Tom (Connie Staszak) Van Lanen, Black Creek; and Pat (Karen) Van Lanen, Seymour; daughter-in-law, Ginger, Green Bay; grandchildren: Eric, Nathan, Chantel, Becky, Dallas, Tyler, Adam, Rachel, Sammy, Josh, Alex, Ricki, Dakota, Jenny, Kelly, Eric, Clayton, Travis, and Timmy; 18 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his step-sister, Beverly (Richard) Delfosse; sisters-in-law, Priscilla Knaub and Rosella Peters.
Alvin is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Van Lanen; three brothers: Donald, Cletus (Jeanette), and Merlin; step-mother, Zilda Van Lanen; sister-in-law: Virginia (Maynard) Krahn; brothers-in-law: Paul (Bernice) Philipsen, Alfred Philipsen, and Milton Peters.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 12:00 noon until the funeral service at 3:00 pm with Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating.
