Arthur J. Beschta Jr., age 90, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024. He was born on August 23, 1933 to the late Arthur Sr. and Helen (Krause) Beschta.
Arthur attended a country school and St. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Hortonville.
He was united in marriage to Shirley Beyer on August 4, 1953 in Shiocton, having celebrated 65 happy years of marriage. She preceded him in death on October 11, 2015.
Art's first job was working for his sister and brother-in-law, Eunice and Bill Petit on the Petit family farm where he was known as "Junior". He went on to work in construction working the drag line. In 1963, they bought and moved onto the dairy farm in Shiocton until his retirement. He raised cabbage for the kraut factory and also owned a school bus that served the Shiocton schools.
After retirement, he still enjoyed helping his son on the farm. Art loved everything to do with farming, and actually never retired as farming was his passion.
He also enjoyed bowling, playing sheepshead, taking trips with friends, and going to the cottage on Shawano Lake with family and friends, and watching the grandchildren in their sporting events.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane Beschta, Appleton; and a son, David (JoAnn) Beschta, Shiocton; grandchildren: David Nicholas (special friend, Tracy) Beschta, Angela (Erik) Heiden, Ashley (Tom) Glatz, Danielle (Mitch) Scott, Brandin (Brittany) Le Capitaine, Chad Le Capitaine, Spencer Le Capitaine, Jason (Elisa) Diermeier; granddaughter-in-law, Ashley Diermeier; great-grandchildren: Brooke and Nicholas Beschta; Mercedes and Jackson Heiden; Hailey and Hannah Glatz; Serena Scott; Kyla, Kinsley, Kaydin, Mavryk, and Dezyl Le Capitaine; Tyler (Britley), Cody, Nolan, Blake, and Lexi Diermeier; great-great-granddaughter, Averie Diermeier. Further survived by a sister, June Strey; sister-in-law, Jeanie Beschta; son-in-law, Jack Diermeier; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Diermeier; grandson, Jeremy Diermeier; sister, Eunice (Bill) Petit; and brother, William Beschta; and brother-in-law, Harold Strey.
