Arthur H. Henke, age 94 passed away May 7, 2009 at his daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Ralph Beyer residence. He was born March 23, 1915 son of the late Gustave and Ella (Klitzke) Henke.
On October 18, 1941 he was united in marriage to Helen Muenster at the Freedom Moravian Church. She preceded him in death on July 30, 2003.
Art farmed and worked at Valley Iron Works (later became Allis Chalmers). He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Town of Center and served on the church council for a number of years. He enjoyed playing cards, and time spent with his family.
He is survived by his daughters: Carol Konrad, Shirley (Ralph) Beyer, Sandra Olson, one son, James (Nancy) Henke, 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dorothy Henke, Victor (Barb) Muenster, Lavern Muenster, Delores Muenster; special cousin, Rita Volkman and other cousins.
Arthur was preceded in death by a grand-daughter, Amy Beyer; brothers: Willard, Carl, and sister, Ethel Volkman.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home on Sunday, May 10, 2009 from 4 Pm until 8 PM and on Monday, May 11, 2009 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Center from 9:30 AM until funeral services at 11 AM with Pastor Jeffrey Suhr and Pastor Micha Martin officiating.
