Seymour
Arthur F. Schwister, age 94 passed away Wednesday morning, May 27, 2009 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour. He was born January 7, 1915 to the late William and Rose (Bergmann) Schwister.
On May 6, 1950 he was united in marriage to Loretta (Stadler) Stingle at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Black Creek. She preceded him in death on May 19, 2005. Art was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Knight's of Columbus; he was also a rural fireman in the Town of Black Creek for many years. He and Loretta owned and operated a farm in the Town of Black Creek until June 1979 when they retired and moved to Black Creek.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Roger Grode, Black Creek; four grandchildren: Connie (Bob) Rankin, Forestville; Diane (Brian) Nackers, Neenah; Tim (Leonia) Grode, Woodlawn, TN; Brenda (Stephen) Manley, Whitehouse, OH; one step- granddaughter, Connie (Bernie) Kuske, Seymour; ten great-grandchildren: Patti Rankin (Fiance Craig Sigl), Milwaukee; Dan Rankin, Milwaukee; Katie, Ben and Tyler Nackers, Neenah; Zachary, Mackenzie, Emily and Jordan Kellner, Noah Manley; step-great-grandchildren: Carly and Bryce Kuske; Heather (Jarrett) Watson, Chris Stout, Zachary Manley; one great-great-granddaughter Emma Grace Watson; one sister-in-law Vilas Van Straten, Appleton and many special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Larry; grandson, David Grode; brothers and sisters-in-law, John (Olive) Schwister, William (Doretta) Schwister, Lenard (Lorraine) Schwister, and Edwin Schwister; Sisters: Laura, Lillie and Marie Schwister; Caroline (Glen) Van Straten, Rosella (Ed) Rosenmier, Kathryn (Harvey) Schroeder; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Art (Helen) Stingle.
Friends may call at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Black Creek on Friday, May 29, 2009 from 9:30 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with Father Theodore Hendricks officiating.
