Barbara Jean Golonka, 70, of Black Creek passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Appleton Medical Center with her entire family by her side following a year long battle with cancer. She was born April 28, 1942 daughter of Jean (Johnston) Gritt and the late Chester Gritt. On February 10, 1959 she was united in marriage to Lincoln "Dan" Golonka. He preceded her in death on October 26, 1996.
Barb was a member of Appleton Alliance Church. She retired from Schenk and Associates where she enjoyed working. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren, loved vacationing in Florida and going up north with family, helping family and others. She had a zest for life.
Survivors include her children: Julie (Dale) Vande Hei, Black Creek; Pam (Joe) Brockman, Black Creek; Sherrie (Doug) Dommer, Seymour; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; her mother Jean Gritt, Seymour; sisters: Ginny (Dennis) Zablocki, Pulaski; Sandy (Tom) Oskey, Maureen (Ray) Zablocki; brother Bob (Shar Ree) Gritt, all of Black Creek; sisters-in-law: Priscella (Vern) Cornelius, Sheboygan; Dee Strauch, Appleton; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by one brother-in-law Chuck Golonka.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until services at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Dennis Episcopo officiating. Entombment will take place at Allouez Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at
