Barbara Lemke

Barbara E. Lemke, age 72, of Appleton passed away on Saturday morning, October 19, 2024 at ThedaCare Medical Center in Appleton. She was born on March 19, 1952 to the late Lloyd and Esther (Laehn) Lemke.

As a young girl she was involved with 4-H and graduated from Seymour High School in 1971. She continued on to beauty school and eventually owned her own hair salon. In her younger years she dairy farmed, and later in life she enjoyed her horses and goats. Several years later Barb earned her degree in Criminal Justice at Fox Valley Technical College as she enjoyed being a lifelong learner. For the last several years she was a dedicated employee of the Northsider convenience store and did bookkeeping for her son's business. Barb celebrated the fact that she was a breast cancer survivor.

She enjoyed spending time crafting, and always looked forward to her mom and daughter beach vacations where she could get her toes in the sand. Down time with her fur babies and "chunky dunking" in the hot tub is how she spent much of her free time. Barb loved spending time with her family and cherished her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Bradley Nooyen (Teri), Billy Nooyen (Trisha), and Becky (Mark) Pynenberg; step-daughter: Bobbie Cottrell; brother, William (Sandy) Lemke; cousin and close friend, Noreen (Hank) Boselie; fur babies: Shelby and Dextor; grandchildren: Wesley (Megin) Roberts, Dalton Nooyen, Mars Nooyen, Devon Pynenberg and special friend Alyssa Schommer, Dane Pynenberg and special friend Mayce Cornelius; step-grandchildren: Cheyanna Cottrell and Isayah Webers; also survived by Bernard Nooyen, her longtime friend and father of her children.

In addition to her parents, Lloyd and Esther Lemke, Barbara was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, April Nooyen; fur baby, Nikk; and a second mother, Adith Buntjer.

Visitation for Barbara will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home (Seymour) on Saturday, October 26, 2024 from 9 am until the time of service at noon with Pastor Michael Main officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Barb's memory are appreciated.
