Bernice Philipsen

Bernice C. Philipsen, age 86, of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at her home with family by her side. She was born August 4, 1929, daughter of the late Tom and Mary (Van Lanen) Detrie. On June 24, 1950 she was united in marriage to Paul Philipsen in Duck Creek. He preceded her in death August 17, 2009.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oneida. Bernice enjoyed gardening, crafts, snowmobiling and praying the rosary.

Bernice is survived by her children: Kathy (Clayton) Goffard, De Pere; LuAnn (Jim) Peters, Shiocton; Sharon Verheyen, Brillion; Dean (Lori) Philipsen, De Pere; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn (Mike) Contezac, Madison; two sisters-in-law, Ruth (Alvin) Van Lanen, Oneida; Rosella Peters, Seymour.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Terry; sons-in-law, Dale Toellner and David Verheyen; grandson, Joe Peters; sisters, Alberta Johannes and Marie (Elmer) Dekelver; brothers, Sylvester (Mildred) Detrie and Irvin (Vivian) Detrie; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law: Alfred Philipsen, Virginia (Maynard) Krahn and Milton Peters.

Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Oneida, from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Fr.
