Beth Ann VanderHeiden, 35, Seymour, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, November 26, 2020, with her family at her side. She was born on June 16, 1985, the daughter of Jan and Amy (Peotter) Kazik in Green Bay. Beth was a 2003 graduate of Seymour High School. On July 25, 2009, she was united in marriage to Adam VanderHeiden at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Seymour, and the couple had three children. Beth later attended nursing school at NWTC, where she graduated in 2018. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and also attended St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Isaar.
Beth's nursing career was brief due to her cancer diagnosis in 2019. She was a loving and caring mother, and her greatest passion in life was spending time with and caring for her family. Beth enjoyed being outdoors; she liked outdoor activities of every season include camping, hunting, fishing, and snowshoeing. She also enjoyed tending to her flowers. Beth had a soft spot for animals and was referred to as the "cat whisperer."
Surivivors include her husband, Adam VanderHeiden, Seymour; sons: Preston, Brady and Hudson, all at home; her parents, Jan and Amy (Peotter) Kazik; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Terry (Hoffman) VanderHeiden; maternal grandmother, Ann Peotter; three siblings: Faye (Jason) Kubisiak, Iola; Delia (Jeremy) Helser, Shiocton; and Josh (Jessica Varelas) Kazik, Green Bay; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: Carrie VanderHeiden, Appleton; Missy (Trent) Ladwig, Green Bay; Cody (Briana) VanderHeiden, and Katie (Dan Krueger) VanderHeiden; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Ervin Sr. and Elsie (Smith) Kazik; and her maternal grandfather, Edward Peotter, Jr.; and her maternal great-grandmother, who Beth said she was looking forward to seeing in Heaven, Marion Peotter.
Guests will be required to wear a mask and respect social distancing guidelines. Visitation will take place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 915 Ivory Street, Seymour, on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, from 3:00-7:00 p.m., Closing Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the church, Fr. Sengole Dass officiating and Fr. Bob Kabat concelebrating. Burial will take place in St. John Catholic Cemetery. A video tribute of Beth's funeral service will be posted on our website after the funeral. Those who are uncomfortable attending the services due to COVID are encouraged to stay home and watch the video tribute and keep the family in your prayers.
The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Kevin Mortara and Kim and the staff of the Bellin Cancer Center, and Cheryl Sischo and the staff of Unity Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
