Brian A. Schroeder, age 94, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Seymour. He was born June 13, 1930, in Red River, Wisconsin, to William and Helen (Sperberg) Schroeder.
He was married to Rosemary Haas on December 11, 1954, at Cicero EUB Church.
After graduating in 1948 from Seymour High School, he started farming. In the 1960s, Brian became a member of the City of Seymour Police Department. A few years later he joined the Outagamie County Sheriff's Department and served as a police officer for 33 years ending his career as a Sergeant.
Brian was a member of the New Life United Methodist Church, Seymour, where he served on many committees, was an usher and enjoyed playing dartball for many years. Farming was always in his blood and after moving off the farm, he continued doing field work on his daughter and son-in-law's farm into his late 80's. Every family get-together included playing sheepshead.
Survivors include: his wife of almost 70 years, Rosemary; daughters: Debra Marsh, Seymour; Linda Schroeder, Mishicot; and Karen (Tim) Gomm, Seymour; six grandchildren: Beth (Rob) Crofts, Jordan (Kailea) Schmit, Kelsey Marsh, Holly (Kevin) VanDenLangenberg, Kimberly (Eli) Marsh and Trevor Gomm; eleven great-grandchildren: Memphis, Amelia, Malakai, Jaxton, Aislyn, Beckett, Gunnar, DaVeena, RaeLynn, Jesse and Annabelle; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Ruth Brusewitz, Joyce (Douglas) Buttles, Arthur (Jane) Haas, TJ (Barb) Landwehr; nieces and nephews on both the Schroeder and Haas sides.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen Schroeder; brothers and sisters-in-law: Clifford (Clara) Schroeder, Ralph Schroeder, Roland (Ruth) Schroeder, and Lee (Ethel) Schrader; sister and brother-in-law: Lillian (Henry) Butter; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Vern Brusewitz, Calvin (Ruby) Kloehn, and Jane Landwehr; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024, with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. and service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at New Life United Methodist Church, 721 Pleasant Way, Seymour, with Pastor Gail Ray officiating. Burial will be in the Seymour City Cemetery. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Brian's memory has been established for New Life United Methodist Church.
