Carl Edward Henn, 80, Seymour, passed away at home on Monday, September 20, 2021.
He was born on his family's farm in the Town of Oneida on December 1, 1940, to the late Frank and Floris (Maass) Henn. Carl was united in marriage to Carolyn Van Handel on September 5, 1964. Carl was born, grew up and devoted his life to our farm until 1985. After this time he worked for Nelson Gardens in Black Creek doing field work and other farm-related duties. In 1996 he worked for Larand Farms in Freedom until he retired in 2008. After retirement he kept busy by mowing lawns for the city of Seymour.
Carl looked forward each year to his hunting trip to Mountain, WI, where he spent quality time with son Tim and special friends Ollie Lerum, Joe Kramer, Mel Sievert, and Earl Kramer. Time was spent to hunt deer, sleep by a special rock, play cards and of course share their "big buck" stories.
Carl cherished his family and enjoyed spending time with the kids, grandkids and adored the newest family member great grandson Dash. He also included his four legged friends as family as well. He loved traveling and taking bus trips with Carolyn.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Henn; children: Tim (Nancy) Henn; Lisa (Tim) Roberts, and Lynn (Bruce) Brinkman; grandchildren: Trevor Henn, Craig Henn, Emily Brinkman, Holly (Jack) Trentadue, and Brian (Ami) Roberts; and one great-grandson, Dash Trentadue. He is further survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Rodney Malkoff, Jim (Peg) Van Handel, Phyllis (Al) Lanser, Pete (Janet) Van Handel, and Greg (Nancy) Van Handel; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Antoinette (Hermus) Van Handel, he was preceded in death by one brother, LeRoy (Mary) Henn; two sisters: Joyce (Earl) Kramer, and Alice Malkoff; and two brothers-in-law: Bill Van Handel and Michael Van Handel.
