Carl H. Schwister, age 87, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Shepherd's Inn in Seymour. He was born November 27, 1922 son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Glasbrenner) Schwister. On August 9, 1952, Carl was united in marriage to Gladys Winkelman in Hartland. She preceded him in death on April 6, 1995. He farmed in the Black Creek area from 1953 until his retirement. He worked as a security guard for Pinkerton's in Appleton during the 1970's and 1980's. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, going to rummage sales and listening to polka music. Carl was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Black Creek.

Survivors include a son, Carl Jr. (Traci) Schwister, Seymour; a daughter, Nancy Bruhn, Appleton; son-in-law, Allen Burmeister, Seymour; grandchildren: Joseph, Lisa, Kelly and Antone; one brother, Robert (Beverly) Schwister, Reedsville; three sister-in-laws, Helen Manke, Watertown; Evelyn Staus, North Lake; Marion Abrath, Oconomowoc and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his wife, a daughter, Diane Burmeister; son-in-law Gordon Bruhn; two sisters, Ruth Krueger and Margaret Fuller; and one brother, Donald Schwister Sr.

Friends may call at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Black Creek on Monday, March 15, 2010 from 1 PM until funeral services at 3 PM with Pastor John Brandt officiating.
