Catherine M. Guyette, age 92, of Shiocton, passed away Wednesday evening, November 6, 2013 at her daughters home. She was born May 17, 1921 daughter of the late Steve and Margaret (Weber) Latza.
On April 27, 1938 she was united in marriage to John Guyette. He preceded her in death October 11, 2001.
Catherine and John farmed their entire life in the town of Maine. Every year she took pride in raising a large flock of chickens to feed her family and friends.
Catherine enjoyed playing cards and rarely missed a card game. She cherished the many visits from her card playing friends. Listening to polka music was one of her favorite things to do.
She was known for her homemade bread and her fabulous apple pies.
She was survived by her children: Harold Guyette, Shiocton; Anna Mae Burns, New London; Helen (Dan) Diemel, Navarino; daughter-in-law Darla Guyette, Shiocton; 15 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her son Peter; daughter-in-law Jean Guyette; son-in-law Allan Burns; grandson Dennis; five brothers; three sisters; five sisters-in-law; and four brothers-in-law.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 9:30 am until services at 11 am with Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Burial will take place at St. Denis Catholic Cemetery in Bovina.
