Clarence Krahn

July 17, 1929 — February 28, 2010

Clarence (AKA The Chief) M. Krahn, age 80, of Seymour passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour.

He was born July17, 1929 to the late the late Herbert and Olga (Schueler) Krahn.

On June 30, 1951 he was united in marriage to Juelaine Rusch in Seymour. For over 58 years he would commonly greet her with a "Hello Beautiful", and Juelaine would always respond "Hi Handsome".

Following marriage the couple moved to their homestead in the Town of Seymour and have resided their since.

Clarence was very proud of his farm and over the years was recognized several times for his accomplishments. He was also vital in developing Precision Forest Products in Black Creek.

Clarence loved to be out in the woods and was a prolific hunter. He bagged several trophy bucks, a state record black bear, and elk during his many hunting excursions.

He also enjoyed going fishing when he had the opportunity, especially with his grandson Chris. His close companionship with Chris continued until his final days.

Clarence's family was a very important part of his life. He was always eager to spend as much time with them as possible that included several trips to Florida and out west.

Clarence was often spotted driving around the area in his famous tan truck.

In addition to his wife Juelaine, he is survived by his children: Kevan (Sandy) Krahn, Seymour, Rhonda (Todd) Vande Corput, Seymour, and Renae (Mark) Parker, Black Creek; grandson Christopher Vande Corput, Seymour; sister-in-law Evalyn (Dan) Johnson, Seymour.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother Alice Green Krahn; brother-in-law Bernard Rusch.

Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 3:30 PM until services at 7:30 PM with Ron Vercimak officiating. Burial will take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Seymour.
