Clarence A. Pennings, age 89, passed away Friday morning, April 22, 2011. He was born May 6, 1921 to the late Albert and Gertrude (Diedrick) Pennings. On September 18, 1948 he was united in marriage to Ruth Lietz. After 62 years of marriage she preceded him in death on December 17, 2010.

Clarence and Ruth owned and operated Pennings Supper Club at Twelve Corners from 1957 until their retirement in 1979. Clarence was employed for many years at Calin & Goss Company in Appleton. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Center. Clarence was an Army Air Force WWII Veteran and a member of the Appleton VFW.

Survivors include his children: Patricia Riehl, Black Creek; Cindy (Tom) Baer, Lakewood; Mike (Mary) Pennings, Clearwater, Florida; Steve (Shawn) Pennings, Black Creek; granddaughters: Jodi (Paul) Mathe, Kerri (Steve) Tuma, Sarah Riehl, Jessica (Shane) Wallenfang, Amanda and Marissa Pennings; 8 great grandchildren; brother Don (Gerry) Pennings, Appleton; sister-in-law Jane Pennings, Appleton.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Wes Riehl; great granddaughter Katelyn; and a brother Marvin.

Friends may call on Monday, April 25, 2011 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Center, from 4 PM until funeral services at 7 PM with Pastor Micha Martin and Pastor Jeffery Suhr officiating. Burial at Bovina Cemetery in Shiocton. Military Rites will follow the service at church. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with arrangements.
