Dale L. Beyer, 80, of Shiocton, passed away Wednesday morning, May 10, 2017 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton, with his family by his side. He was born April 22, 1937, to the late Merlin and Viola (Planert) Beyer. On January 21, 1978, he was united in marriage to Cheryl Stallmann.
Dale was a self-employed home builder and cabinet maker, then a carpenter at Lawrence University until his retirement. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and gardener. He canned or froze nearly everything he grew. His salsa and applesauce in particular were unparalleled. He was a sports fan at all levels, and cheered on his beloved Shiocton Chiefs every chance he got. When his children played in high school, he attended every single event in every sport in which they participated, home or away. (He also never missed an episode of NYPD Blue)! He adored time spent with his grandchildren, teaching them his passions and leaving a legacy of traditions to carry on.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; children: Dale J. (Pamela) Beyer, Plover; Melissa J. (Mark) Yunker, Louisville, KY; and Bradley (Michelle) Jorgensen, Shiocton; five grandchildren: Marisa Yunker, Lillian and Amelia Beyer, Elijah and Benjamin Jorgensen; mother-in-law, Beatrice Stallmann; one brother, Gary Beyer; one sister-in-law, Heather McAllister; nephews: S. Blake McAllister, Scott and Michael Beyer; and great-nephews Nathan and Brady McAllister.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Maynard Stallmann; sister-in-law Nancy Tessier Beyer; and brother-in-law, Daniel McAllister.
