Dale R. Katch, age 78 of Seymour, WI passed away peacefully at his home with his family around him on Saturday, March 13th, 2021. He was born March 15th, 1942 son of the late Robert and Marion (Bunkelman) Katch.
He was raised on the family farm and graduated in 1961 from Pulaski High School. After graduation he joined the US Navy. He was a Vietnam veteran and served on the USS Aeolus as a Machinery Maintenance Operator from 1964-1968. While serving, he learned his skills in refrigeration/HVAC. This led to a life-long career in HVAC, and eventually owning his own business for 25 years. He served on the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department for 26 years and was a member of the American Legion Krause-Kraft Post 106 Seymour WI. He is a member of St John's Catholic Church, Seymour WI
On Feb 17th, 1984 he was united in marriage to Jean Raymakers. They had 39 years together. He enjoyed bowling, boating and word searches. He loved his family and especially enjoyed taking crazy family road trips. In his later years his heart belonged to his grandchildren. They brought joy and laughter and he enjoyed snuggling them without sharing. His heart was filled with pride every time he spoke of them.
Dale is survived by his wife, Jean; children: Dean (Becky) Katch, Neenah; Tavia (Rob) Hopfensperger, Dale; Keely (Todd) Schaumberg, Seymour; Kyle (Katie) Katch, Seymour; grandchildren: Eric (Alyssa) Hopfenserger, Alex (Madison) Hopfensperger; Isabella, Noah, and Jack Schaumberg; Kendall and Tucker Katch; siblings: Darlene Egnarski, Pulaski; Dianne (Ray) Gronski, Pulaski; Dave Katch, Seymour; Bob Katch, Appleton; Mary Strehlow, Pulaski; sister-in-law, Kathy Katch, Elcho; Debbie (Steve) Buschel, Pelican Lake; Dan (Renee) Katch, Freedom; Steve Katch, Seymour; Sandy Hendzel, Little Chute; and Nancy (Fred) Leisgang, Seymour. He is also survived by Jean's family, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly and brother, Jerry; brother-in-law, Jerry Strehlow; brother-in-law, Don Egnarski; sister-in-law, Sue Katch; niece, Linda Egnarski; nephew, Brad Egnarski; nephew, Christopher Gronski; and father-in-law, Don Raymakers.
Visitation will take place at St John's Catholic Church, Seymour, on Thursday, March 18th, 2021 from 10:00 am until the funeral mass at 12 noon with Father Sengole Dass and Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Burial will take place at the parish cemetery. Krause-Kraft Post 106, Seymour, will provide Military Service Honors
