Daniel L. Rihm, age 64, Appleton, was welcomed into heaven on October 20, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital with his family beside him. He was born on May 18, 1957 to the late Raymond J. and Veramae H. (Duhm) Rihm. Dan was raised on the family dairy farm in Black Creek and was a graduate of Shiocton High School. He attended Fox Valley Technical College and worked at Simmons Manufacturing for 18 years until his retirement.
Dan was an avid gardener and a connoisseur of great food. You could always find him at the local racetrack or watching his favorite sports. He loved to go boating, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling with his brothers and nephews. He had a big, loving heart and was a cherished friend to many. Later in his years, he took care of his mother and father and now they are taking care of him in heaven.
Dan is survived by his four brothers: Terry Rihm, Black Creek; David Rihm, Appleton; Thomas (Jean) Rihm, Greenville; Timothy Rihm, Black Creek; sister Peggy (Merlin) Rohm, Seymour; 13 nieces and nephews: Kori (Tony) Zawojski, Egg Harbor; Cassie (Pudge) Schuh, Seymour; Adam (Jade) Rihm, DePere; Kayla (Sal) Rihm, Prescott, AZ; Michael (Sarah) Rihm, Black Creek; Jennifer (Jeremy) Van Dinter, Menasha; Brian (Janel) Randall, Neenah; Kali (Jeremy) Randall, Victor, ID; Emma (Adam) Randall, Green Bay; Katie (Dane) Checolinski, Sheboygan; Kimberly (Michael) Zelzer, Wrightstown; Amber Rihm, CA; Dallas Rihm, OR; 11 great nieces and nephews: Ty and Natalie Zawojski;, Brooke, Jack and Ted Schuh; Payton and Arianna Van Dinter; Mary and Mathew Checolinski; Aubrey and Jackson Randall; other relatives and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Raymond and Veramae, and his infant sister Luanne; Grandparents Theodore and Alma Rihm; George and Dorothy Duhm; his uncles and aunts.
Visitation will take place at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2021. Visitation continues at St. John United Church of Christ, 101 S. Clark St. Black Creek, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2021, Pastor Moira Finley officiating. Burial will take place in the Seymour City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
