Danny John (Approaching Cloud, Bii-danawakad), age 29, of Green Bay passed away unexpectedly in Milwaukee on Sunday, May 9, 2010. He was born June 4, 1980 in Milwaukee to Bonnie Hill and Porky John as a member of the Oneida Bear Clan.
Danny enjoyed singing and dancing at Pow-Wow's as a proud member of the Oneida and Stockbridge tribes. He was always visiting old friends and making new friends wherever he went. Danny was the lead singer of the Eagle Singers Drum Group.
He was a big guy with a bigger heart. Little children where drawn to him because of his soothing nature. Danny liked to hunt, fish and camp. He always enjoyed traveling with the drummers to different parts of the United States and Canada. His humor was very notable. Danny was cracking jokes or playing pranks every day.
Danny is survived by his parents: Bonnie Hill-Harlson, Milwaukee and Porky (Amii) John, Oneida; six siblings: Julie Fields, West Bend; Kristen (LeeAnn) Hill, Milwaukee; Brian John, Sr., Green Bay; Ruby John, Oneida; Florence John, Oneida; Emerson John, Oneida. He is also survived by numerous family, friends and community members.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Irving and Hazel Hill and paternal grandparents, Irving and Leona John.
Friends may call to the Longhouse, W370 Reformatory Road, Oneida, on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 from 7 PM until services on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 10 AM. Burial will be in the Oneida Nation Cemetery immediately following services. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour is assisting the family.
