David Menor, 66, is walking through the gates of Heaven without any earthly encumbrance. No more wheelchairs, no more crutches. He is free at last.
David died at Clarity Care at Russet Court in Appleton after a brief illness on February 11, 2021. He was born on November 13, 1954, in Goodman, Wisconsin, to the late Clarence and Esther (Ninman) Menor.
He was born with cerebral palsy and attended Howe Orthopedic School in Green Bay until age 16. David lived at home after completing his schooling, going daily to the Wausaukee Activity Center until his parents died. He moved to Green Bay and remained active, working at Curative Connections for over 30 years. He lived independently in his own apartment until three years ago when he required more assistance in his daily activities. David moved to Clarity Care in Appleton where he remained until his death.
David enjoyed watching WWE wrestling on TV and taping the wrestling events, playing cards with his sister, Marilyn "Mary" and the staff of Clarity Care, going out to restaurants and taking rides in the car. David had a great sense of humor and enjoyed getting together at family gatherings. He was very outgoing and friendly and was not discouraged by his disabilities.
Survivors include his sisters: Marilyn "Mary" Menor, Seymour; Shirley (Robert) Meyer, Goodman, WI and Leesburg, FL; and his nephew, Peter Meyer, Green Bay.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Menor, and his mother, Esther Menor.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Interment will take place at Glenwood Cemetery in Goodman. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home in Seymour is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family extends a special thanks to Rachel Pongratz and the staff of Russet Court Clarity Care and Heartland Hospice Care for their kind and compassionate care.
