Del James Wendt, Sr., age 64, of Black Creek, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011 following a brief battle with lung cancer.
He was born August 27, 1946, son of the late Dallas and Harriet (Heartsworm) Wendt.
On May 4, 2002 he married Kim De Witt in Seymour.
He was an Army veteran and was employed with Lamers Bus Line retiring on his birthday.
In addition to his wife Kim, he is survived by: daughter Connie (Mike) Rohloff and their children, Brandon and Trevor; daughter Kris Wendt and her children, Torrence "T.J.", Aleisha, Alisa, and Amanda; son Dell Jr. (Samantha) Wendt and their son Dell III; daughter Jennifer (Logan) Van Schyndel and their children: Damion, Blake, Cameron, Alex, and Angel; daughter Michelle Stamper and her children: Sahara, Ryan, and Dylan; son Jeremy (Stacey) Van Schyndel and their children: Lexi, Westley, Melachi, and Ephrum; son Dakota Wendt; daughter Jade Wendt; son Jeremy Blakeslee-Wendt.
He is further survived by 3 brothers: Harley Wendt, George (Dee) Wendt, and Danny Wendt; sister Deb (Andy) Bodoch; 5 brothers-in-law: Mike (Pat) De Witt, Randy (Laurie) Timm, Rodney Timm, David Hall-Timm, Philip Jr. (Kim) De Witt; 3 sisters-in-law: Sandy (Bob) Kadalik, Darleen De Witt, Bobbi Jo De Witt.
Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and Bill (Sandy) Lemke, who was like a brother to Del, and Jim Fuller, who was like a son.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers-in-law: Perry De Witt and Kevin De Witt; a sister-in-law Gail De Witt; father-in-law and mother-in-law Philip and Mildred De Witt.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home on Monday, June 20, 2011 from 9 AM until services at 11 AM with Pastor Roland Lindeman officiating. Burial will take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery with military rites to follow.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
