Delores “Dee” June Golonka-Strauch, 87, of Appleton, passed away Monday morning, April 9, 2018, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton. She was born one of 11 brothers and sisters on October 16, 1930 to the late Jacob and Lorinda (Beyer) Stephani.
In 1950 she was united in marriage to Charles Gordon Golonka. Together the couple resided in Seymour for many years. He preceded her in death January 1991. Dee later moved to Appleton.
She worked for many years in the library at Rock Ledge Elementary in Seymour.
Dee was an avid antique collector/restorer, rug weaver, and auctioneer. She and Chuck enjoyed lots of Polka dancing. Chuch and Dee also enjoyed traveling around the world together often visiting their son, Randall “Randy”, who was a career soldier.
She married Arnold Strauch in 2003 and they have lived in Appleton since that time.
Delores was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton.
She is survived by her husband, Arnold; son, Randy (Karin) Golonka; grandson, Brian (Regina) Golonka; great-grandsons: Aidyn and Tristan; 10 step-children; brother, Eugene; sisters: Florence, Kathleen, and Laverne.
Delores is preceded in death by her brothers: Ervin, Jerome, and Lawrence; sisters: Vera, Joyce, and Rosie.
Friends may call at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 404 W. Lawrence Street, Appleton on Thursday, April 12, 2018, from 9:30 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Father Jim Leary officiating. Entombment will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
