Delores Mae Reed, 92 years of age, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 8, 2018, after a short illness.
She was born January 6, 1926, to Chris and Viola Roepcke. She grew up on the family farm in Cicero.
Delores met the love of her life, Gerald Reed, after World War II, and soon became his wife. They went on to have 15 beautiful children. With her abundance of energy, and never a complaint about all the cooking, laundry, sewing, and daily trips to Donʼs Quality Market, Delores and Gerald built an amazing life together in Seymour.
She was an active member of Saint John the Baptist Church and was a strong example of living a faith filled life. Delores spent many years as a passionate lunch lady for the Seymour Community School. Delores loved golf and she got that hole-in-one. She always had her coins ready for a competitive card game with friends and family. Travel was always a passion as well as snow birding for 24 years to Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Delores was a very busy lady. She was a member of Crystal Springs Ladies League, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and The Red Hat Society. She loved her friends. And she loved the activities at Meadow Woods Apartments
Delores was lucky enough to find love again with Earl Gillis. They enjoyed many years of camping and traveling together.
