Dennis E. Bernetzke, age 62, passed away Monday, April 23, 2007 at home, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 10, 1944 in Appleton, the son of Ruth (Hansen) Bernetzke and the late Theodore Bernetzke. Dennis owned and operated his own farm in the Town of Freedom until his retirement. He was a member of the Freedom Moravian Church. Dennis enjoyed traveling, the Green Bay Packers, NASCAR, especially Tony Stewart, golfing and time spent with family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Ruth Bernetzke, Appleton; his children, Jerry (Cindy) Bernetzke, Appleton; Carol Steffens, Menasha; Ken Bernetzke, also of Menasha; his four grandchildren: Corey Bernetzke, Nicki Swokowski, Erin Steffens, Katie Benetzke; two great-grandchildren, Dru and Tye; also, his brother, James (Debra) Bernetzke, of Seymour.

He was preceded in death by his father; and an infant brother, Robert.

Friends may call at the Freedom Moravian Church, on Thursday, April 26, 2007 from 2:00 P.M. until the time of funeral services at 6:30 P.M., with Reverend Jason Anderson officiating. The burial will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. The Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.boettcherfuneralhomes.com
