Desmond Riehl, age 21, passed away on July 21, 2022. He was born on November 12, 2000, in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, to Damian and Lorna (Sula) Riehl. Desmond attended elementary school, middle school, and freshman year of high school in Sierra Vista, AZ. He graduated from Rossview High School in Clarksville, TN. Following graduation he attended Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. Desmond enlisted in the US Marine Corps Reserve on July 19, 2021, as a transmission systems operator.
Since Desmond's death, many have written about how special he was and how fortunate they were to have known him. They recall the absolute pleasure of his company, how good he made them feel, how free they were to be themselves around him, and how much they will miss him. Desmond cared about friends and family most sincerely. He loved them for who they were and he wished the best for them without asking anything in return.
He is survived by his loving parents: Damian and Lorna Riehl; brothers: Kenneth Santos and Kharlo Santos; nieces: KayCee and Kolleen; grandparents: Brian and Lorrie Riehl; grandmother, Carmen Sula; uncle, Nathan (Gwen) Riehl; and cousins: Bryson Riehl and Brendon Riehl; aunt, Holly (Shawn) Samson; with cousins: Laylah Maass, Cameron Samson, Alex Samson, and Isaac Samson; uncle, Matthew Blink; with cousin, Kolby Blink; uncle, Leonardo Sula; and cousins: Jonnel Sula, Jerald Sula, Jennifer Sula, and Jasmin Sula; uncle, Loreto (Vernie) Sula Jr.; with cousins: Lyra Sula and John Sula; aunt, Loida (William) Chung; with cousins: Louie Chung and June Chung; aunt, Lorena (Andy) Dayrit; with cousin, Nicole Dayrit; aunt, Lhai Martir with cousins: Pauline, Phia, and Kate; uncle, Ryan Sula; uncle, Carlo Sula; cousin, Lerlyn Garcia; with niece, Rianna Barangay; and cousin, Leonard Garcia.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Loreto Sula; aunt, Lyn Garcia; brother, Paulo Santos; and cousin, JayJay Sula.
Visitation for Desmond will take place on Saturday, July 30th, 2022, at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am., Pastor Mark Gartner officiating. The funeral service will be live streamed and may be viewed at
