Black Creek
Donald R. Gresl, age 83, of Black Creek passed away Friday, December 7, 2007 at Franciscan Care Center in Appleton. He was born June 28, 1924 to the late George and Estellsa (Kreutzberg) Gresl in Cato. Don served in the U.S. Army during WWII. On August 7, 1948 he was united in marriage to Elaine Schroeder. Together they farmed in Black Creek until his retirement. She preceded him in death October 24, 1986. Don was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Black Creek.
Don was very active as a volunteer for the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of Black Creek. There weren't many things Don could not build with his own hands. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Branson, playing sheepshead, buying and selling antiques and was a huge Packer fan. Don also enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include: his children, Robert (Donna) Derus, Appleton; Roger (Kim) Delfosse, Oshkosh; Theresa (Scott Bork) Delfosse, Neenah; grandchildren: Bobbie (Butch) Heagle, Brett (Erin) Derus, Billie Jean (Jeremy) Barth, Matt (Dalynn) Sprotte, Chris Sprotte, Brianna Bork, Eros Dahl, George Dahl, Chris Delfosse, Gary (Billie Jo) Doxtator, Kelly Doxtator; great-grandchildren: Maria, Cole, Caleb, Christian, Keaton, Spencer, Devanee. He is further survived by: special friend, Marie Seehafer, Black Creek, his brother, Jim Gresl, Grand Chute; brother-in-law, Glenn (Dottie) Schroeder, Freedom; sisters-in-law, Rita (Lawrence) Petersen, Appleton; Irene (Robert) Van Hoof, Freedom; Phyllis Schroeder, Appleton; Margaret Gresl, Appleton; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, George and Estellsa (Kreutzberg) Gresl; his wife, Elaine; brother, Paul Gresl; sister-in-law, Betty Gresl; brother-in-law, Robert Schroeder.
Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. Visitation will continue at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Black Creek, on Thursday, December 13, 2007 from 10 A.M. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. with Father Theodore Hendricks officiating.
