Donald (Don) F. Raymakers, 77, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, surrounded by his family.
He was born September 3, 1940, son of the late John and Lorraine (Diedrich) Raymakers. He was a Pulaski graduate with the class of 1958.
Don married the former Delphine Tyczkowski on October 1, 1960, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Hofa Park. He has been a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Seymour for many years.
Don started his career at Gustman’s in Seymour in 1961 as a mechanic and worked himself up to the Parts and Service Manager where he worked for 25 years. During this time, he also worked part-time as an Auxillary police officer, which lead him to his next career as the Chief of Police of Seymour. He held this position from 1985 until his retirement in 2006.
Don enjoyed being active in boating, traveling, lawn manicuring, and especially spending time and doing projects with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Don is survived by his wife, Delphine; children: Dale (Beth) Raymakers, Todd (Kathy) Raymakers, Jean (Dale) Katch, Julie (Wayne) Ulmen; grandchildren: Keely (Todd) Schaumberg, Kyle (Katie) Katch, Sam Raymakers, Brittney Raymakers, Larissa Ulmen, Aubree Ulmen; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Noah, and Jack Schaumberg and Kendall and Tucker Katch; step-grandchildren: Dean (Becky) Katch, Tavia (Rob) Hopfensperger, Phillip Mestrich, Kiersten Peterson, Kallie Peterson and Josh Peterson. Further survived by his siblings: Joyce Runge, Robert (special friend, Rita) Raymakers, Carol (Don) Staszak, Gary (Ellen)Raymakers, Bill (Sharon) Raymakers, Judy (Joe) McNeill and Bruce (Marie) Raymakers; brother-in-law, Ervin (Nancy) Tyczkowski; and sister-in-law, Bernice (Joseph) Rychwalski.
In addition to his parents, John and Lorraine, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Julius and Veronica Tyczkowski; brothers-in-law, Julian Tyczkowski and Robert Runge; sister-in-law Marge Tyczkowski.
Friends may call at St. John Catholic Church, Seymour, on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 2:00 pm until the funeral mass at 6:00 pm with Fr. Brian Belongia and Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating.
