Donald Schmit

Donald L. Schmit, 73, of Seymour, passed away Friday morning, February 26, 2016. He was born September 18, 1942, son of the late Leo and Clara (Landwehr) Schmit.
Don graduated from Seymour High School in 1960. On April 4, 1964 he was united in marriage to Judith Platten.
He worked briefly at Green Bay Food and later began his 32 year career at Ft. Howard before retiring in 1998.
Don enjoyed Brewer and Packers games. He was quick with jokes and his sense of humor was well known. More than anything else, Don loved his entire family.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; sons: Glen (Wendy) Schmit, Seymour; Paul Schmit, Abrams; Dan (Lisa) Schmit, Seymour; Dennis (Renee) Schmit, Ashwaubenon; grandchildren: Courtney, Tyler, Michael, Chelsea, Alyssa, Christy, Nick, Stephen, Carley, Hannah, Jared, Adam, and Bryan; great-grandchildren: Landon, Lydia, and Ava. Further survived by sisters-in-law: Jenny (Chris) Anschutz, and Diane (Terry) Bunkelman.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne (Edwin) Court; father-in-law and mother-in-law; Roman and Leona Platten; and sister-in-law, Mary Platten;
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 3:00 pm until the funeral service at 7:00 pm with Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Burial will take place in St. Sebastian Cemetery.
