THEYEL, DONALD L.
Navarino

Donald L. Theyel, age 72, of Navarino, passed away at his home, on Saturday morning, June 2, 2007, with his family by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 20, 1934, in Navarino, the son of Ruth (Hillsberg) Theyel and the late Andrew "Barney" Theyel. On August 20, 1955 he was united in marriage to Rose Weber in Navarino. Don was employed with Frank O. Ziese Construction in Green Bay until his retirement. In 1992 he and his wife moved to Navarino. Anyone who knew Don would know his love of family, friends, baseball, racing, following the local stock car drivers, and hunting. His Sundays were fulfilled by watching the Green Bay Packers football and the Navarino Rangers baseball games. Don was best known for his "one liners". He was one of the world's best storytellers. His friends were bountiful and special to him.

Don is survived by his wife, Rose, of 51 years: his children: Gary (Joan) Theyel, Howard, and their children, Nicole (fiance, Bill), Joshua and Amanda; Julie (Don) Nowak, Pulaski, and their children, Bret (fiancee, Laura), Brandon and Nick; Pam (Jerry) Harmann, Port Washington, and their children, Brian and Alex; and his mother, Ruth Theyel, Navarino.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Navarino, from 9:00 a.m. until the memorial services at 11:00 a.m., with The Most Reverend Robert F. Morneau and Sr. Jane Riha celebrating. The burial will be in the parish cemetery. The Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.boettcherfuneralhomes.com . Following the services a celebration of Don's life will continue at the Navarino Rangers Baseball Field.

For expressions of sympathy a memorial fund has been established to Unity Hospice.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Green Bay Oncology Unit, also Dr. Scott Ruggles, and the staff of Unity Hospice, for all their compassionate care and support for Don and his family. Also huge thanks to our family and friends for all their support, visits, cards, calls and prayers. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
