Donna Hanseter

Donna J. Hanseter (Neumann), age 76, of Seymour, Wisconsin passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011 at home with her family by her side. She was born January 1, 1935 in Oshkosh, WI to Carl and Hilda Neumann. On February 1, 1958 she was united in marriage to Russell Hanseter, in Oshkosh. They moved to Seymour, WI in 1963.

She was employed at the Hittner Clinic and later at Cumicek Jeweler's. She enjoyed meeting people and would recognize them many years later.

Donna was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and Christian Women. She enjoyed helping with funeral dinners and with coffee and doughnuts Sunday's after mass. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Unit 3319 of Kaukauna and Seymour Unit 106 American Legion Auxiliary and served two years as President of Unit 106. She enjoyed playing cards on Monday with her many friends and she thanks them for teaching her. Donna played a hand of cribbage almost every day during the school year with her son Tom and at times with grandsons Aric, Eli, Tommy and whoever she could get to play. Donna held a perfect "21" hand at the November 13, 1999 Veterans Day Party playing with friends.

Donna especially enjoyed attending State and National American Legion conventions, conferences and the "caravan's" with their special Legion friends. She enjoyed antiquing and adding to her Scotty Dog collection. She was Russ's fishing buddy and often out fished him and still loved him after he had her release her first musky. She loved reading, knitting mostly socks, and playing 3-13.

Survived by her husband Russ, sons: Russ (Julie); Tom (Leslie); daughters: Renee (T.J.) Thompson; Gail (fiancee Mike Barkow); grandchildren: Aric and Ashley Hanseter; Eli and Tommy Grelecki; Nic, Max, and Ali Thompson; Ian and Ben Hanseter; sisters: Audrey VanBeynen, Betty Johnson and Carol Diestler; stepsister Linda Detloff; stepbrothers: Carl, Marty, and Dan Neumann; Brother-in-law, Ronald (Karen) Hanseter; sisters-in-law: Susan (Bob) Doemel; Mary (Bob) Kelly; Gloria (Tom) Robl; Patti (Sel) Micka; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends may call at St. John's Catholic Church, Seymour from 4-8 PM Wednesday, June 29, 2011 with Auxiliary Services at 6:30 PM and Thursday at the church from 9:30 until services at 11:00 AM with Father Bob Kabat officiating, with burial in the parish cemetery. A memorial fund has been established to the Carmelite Mission in the Philippines in Donna J. Hanseter's name in honor of St. Therese who died of tuberculosis at the age of 24.
