Doris A. Dix, age 87, of Black Creek, passed away Monday afternoon, May 27, 2013 at Appleton Medical Center. She was born August 13, 1925, daughter of the late Clarence and Marion (Esser) Lauenstein.
Doris was employed with the State of Wisconsin Unemployment Office until her retirement. She was a member of the Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Shiocton. She enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends, and her breakfast club with the girls once a week. She loved shopping with her friend Mary and buying clothes for the grandkids. She helped every year process all the green beans from the garden. Watching Wheel of Fortune and the Packers play gave her much enjoyment. Playing cards and bowling in past years with her friends.
She is survived by her daughters: Sandy (Joe) Theisen, Black Creek; Diane Ames, Kenosha; grandchildren: Amanda and Danielle Theisen, Sara, William, Rachel and Steven Ames; one sister, Mary Roberson; brothers: Jim Lauenstein, Clarence (Joyce) Lauenstein and Bill Lauenstein.
She is preceded in death by her husband Eugene on April 9, 2003 and a brother Bob Lauenstein.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Friday, May 31, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until services at noon with Pastor Brad Ragner officiating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park Appleton. Online condolences may be expressed at
