Doris R. Heckenlaible, age 85, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Country Terrace in Seymour. She was born December 2, 1923 in Appleton, daughter to the late John and Lillian (Schroth) Lemke. On January 30, 1940 she was united in marriage to Elmer Leon Heckenlaible in Appleton. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2000.

Doris and her husband farmed most of there life and she was member of the United Methodist Church in Seymour. She also liked teaching Sunday school, being outdoors working her gardens and continued to sew up until her final days.

She is survived by her children: Richard (Rena) Heckenlaible, Iola; DeWayne (Irene) Heckenlaible, AZ; Robert (Carol) Heckenlaible, West Bend; Sue Ellen (Gordon) Grosnick, Seymour; Byron (Peggy) Heckenlaible, Freedom; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is further survived by two half brothers: Fred (Ethel) Schultz, Seymour; Allen Schultz, Almond; and one half sister: Bonnie M. Immel, Appleton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Bernice Sachs, a half sisters, Lillian and Betty; one brother, Cy Lemke; step-father Ferdinhand Schultz.

Friends may call at United Methodist Church, Seymour on Monday, March 9, 2009 from 10AM until funeral services at 12 PM with Pastor Rebecca Henry officiating.
