Doris Mary Lorenz, age 84, of Shiocton passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 1, 2014 at Greentree Nursing Home in Clintonville. She was born June 22, 1929 daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Mueller) Werner. On August 5, 1950 she was united in marriage to Elton Lorenz at St. Edwards in Mackville and celebrated 63 years together.
Doris was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Navarino.
Doris and Elton began building their homestead and continued to work together raising their family, taking care of the farm, and hauling milk for many years.
She enjoyed providing for the family with her gardening skills. Doris was in charge of raising the pickles that were later sold to the canning factory to help support the family. She took pride in cooking the meals for the family gatherings during the holidays; usually never using a recipe.
Some of the greatest memories were made on the weekly Saturday shopping trips to Appleton.
Her grandchildren were always eager to visit Grandma Doris's special candy jar.
She is survived by her husband Elton, their children: Patricia (Lloyd) Tesch, Eagle River; Dennis (Sally) Lorenz, Kaukauna; Kathleen (Ron) Guyette, Black Creek; Gerald (special friend Lisa) Lorenz, Iowa; Gordon (Diana) Lorenz, Shiocton; Harold (Tammy) Lorenz, Shiocton; Debra (Gary) Blohm, Seymour; Sandra (Joe) Gitter, New London; Christine (Vernon) Stedjee, Shiocton; 27 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marcella Schwahn, Kimberly; Evelyn Krueger, Appleton. Doris is further survived by her brother-in-law Ralph (Roberta) Lorenz, Black Creek; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Peter; brother, Jerome Werner; sister, Leona McClone.
