Dorothy Baranczyk, age 91, passed away Friday, September 03, 2010 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

She was born January 15, 1919, daughter of the late Frank and Ella (Rothlesberger) Stark. On October 22, 1938 she was united in marriage to Peter Baranczyk. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1989.

Dorothy and her husband farmed until 1954 when they moved to Seymour. Dorothy was a member of St. John's Catholic Church where she was a cook for many years managing the hot lunch for 19 years. She was involved with cooking the "big hamburger" at the hamburger celebration in Seymour. She enjoyed playing cards, senior citizens card parties, gardening, old time music and was a member of the Christian Mothers and Catholic Foresters where she served as treasurer.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol (Hobart) Lubas, Abrams; one son, Edward Baranczyk, Seymour; grandchildren: Ann (Douglas) Williams, CA; Barbara (Mike) Piechura, MD; Chris (Bill) Lambert, OH; Albert Lubas, Green Bay; 5 great-grandchildren: Amy (Arthur), Randy, David, Arwen, Tecwyn; and great-great-grandson, Arthur.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Mary.

Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Monday, September 6, 2010 from 4 PM until 6 PM with a prayer service at 5:30 PM and Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at St. John's Catholic Church, Seymour from 1:30 PM until services at 3 PM with Father Robert Kabat officiating.
