Dorothy Baxter

Dorothy Anna Baxter (Miller) age 95, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday Jan. 12, 2012. Her last moments were peaceful and she was surrounded by family members in her home. Dorothy was born to Ernest and Minnie (Dunker) Miller on April 12, 1916 at their farm in the town of Black Creek. On May 22, 1937 she was married to Almond Lewis Baxter of Maplehurst, WI. They lived and worked on the original Miller family farm until their retirement in 1979.
Dorothy was loved by family and friends, and always expressed a profound interest in the lives of all her acquaintances. She had an extraordinary ability to remember many details in the lives of her family and friends. She enjoyed activities such as traveling, gardening, canning, and walking her dog Max. She was always ready for an adventure.
Dorothy truly loved the Lord and has been faithful to Christ all her life and has made sure we all knew who He is and did her best to lead us all to Him. She has been a faithful member of the Seymour United Methodist Church and has always considered her friends there her 2nd family. She loved them all and always spoke well of them and everyone.
Her survivors include 5 sons, 1 daughter, 5 daughters-in-law, & 1 son-in-law; James (Arlene) Baxter, Black Creek; Donald (Beverly) Marcks, Black Creek; Marie Nowell, Texas; David (Audrey) Baxter, Nielsville; Ernest Baxter,Black Creek; Donald (Barbara) Baxter, California; Mrs. Duane (Polly)Baxter, Oklahoma; Randy (Mary) Baxter, Black Creek. Dorothy's family had also grown to include 25 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Almond, daughter Beverly, son Duane, daughter-in-law Betty, and 2 great granddaughters.
Friends may call at Seymour United Methodist Church on Monday, January 16, 2012 from 4 PM until services at 6:30 PM with Pastor Rebecca Henry officiating. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com
