Dorothy Hallada

Dorothy M. Hallada, age 98, of Seymour passed away Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour. She was born December 19, 1910 in Seymour to the late Frank and Anna (Brandl) Liebhaber.

On May 10, 1932 she was united in marriage to Clarence M. Hallada at St. John the Baptist Church in Seymour. Clarence preceded her in death on April 4, 1997.

Dorothy and Clarence became of the owners of the family business, Hallada's Meat Market, until retiring in 1964.

She was a life long member of St. John the Baptist Church in Seymour and was a member of the Christian Mother's Society.

Dorothy enjoyed playing cards and working crossword puzzles. She was the last survivor of the Frank and Anna Liebhaber family and also the last survivor of the Seymour High School Class of 1929.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Karen Hallada, Seymour, David (Marilyn) Hallada, Appleton, and Tom (Mary) Hallada, Bradenton, FL; 6 grandchildren: Tim, Cheryl, and Julie Hallada, Jill (Greg) Guertin, Jennifer Waara, and Jessica Hallada; 7 great grandchildren: Nathan, Brittany, Jacob, Josh, Alissa, Madyson, and Abigayle. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 6 sisters: Ciel, Annie, Lona, Erna, Genevieve, and Inez; 3 brothers: Beno, Frank, and LeRoy.

Friends may call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Seymour, on Thursday, September 3, 2009 from 9 AM until the funeral mass at 11 AM with Fr. Bob Kabat and Deacon Orvell DeBruin officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with arrangements.
