Durwin "Red" B. Evenstad, age 72, passed away November 4, 2013 with his loving wife Nancy at his side, after a brief illness in Green Bay, WI.
Red was born on 12-5-40 to Raymond and Irene Evenstad in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Red spent most of his life working in the grocery business. He owned and ran Red's IGA in Bonduel for many years before becoming an Assistant Manager at T & C in Shawano. Most recently, Red was a Greeter at Sam's Club in Green Bay.
Red's free time was spent fishing and golfing. Red spent many hours playing cribbage with his family and watching his team, the Packers, at Lambeau Field or at home with his family on television.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children: Amy (Tom) Jansen, Green Bay; Erik (Tammy) Evenstad, Rhinelander; Marc (Susan) Evenstad; Seymour; brothers: Gordon Evenstad, Ft. Myers, FL; David Evenstad, Milwaukee; Randall Evenstad, Abrams; eight grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial get-together will be held in the chapel of Parkview Manor Nursing Home, 2961 St Anthony Dr., Green Bay, WI 54311, where Red was a resident, on Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 1 - 4 p.m. for family and close friends.
