Earline Bock

December 7, 1944 — March 26, 2009

"LIFE.
It's not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely
in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside,
totally worn out and proclaiming, "Wow! What a ride!"
-Unknown-

Earline L. "Lee" Bock, 64, Pulaski, wife, mother, children's advocate and social activist, began her new journey on March 26 after a 14-year grace-filled dance with lymphoma.
Lee was born December 7, 1944 in Hayden, Colorado and moved 47 times before she and her husband, Bob, established permanent roots on the Sha-Bock family farm in 1971. Their commitment to the environment extended from their award-winning Holsteins and Arabian horses to the fields they plowed and crops they planted.
Lee received a bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts from UW-Oshkosh, her master's degree in Creative Arts in Learning from Lesley University and her school library media license in from UW-Oshkosh.
Lee was passionate about children and the literature that inspired their lives. She taught language arts in the Kimberly and Seymour School Districts, was a children's librarian at the Brown County Library (DePere, Central and Pulaski branches) and most recently, was a library media specialist at Glenbrook Elementary School for the Pulaski School District. As an adjunct instructor at UW-Green Bay, she also passed on this passion to college students working toward degrees in education. In addition, she brought books to life for young people through her avocations as a puppeteer with the Kokopelli Puppet Theatre, clown and children's theatre performer. She was also the author of the children's book, "Oh, Crumps!", currently in its fourth printing.
Lee personified the adage, "Think Globally, Act Locally". Her interest in national child advocacy and peace and social justice issues led Lee and her husband to extend an open heart and home to both international students and local youth in need of stability, encouragement and acceptance. Her other interests were broad as well. She served on the board of Wisconsin Public Radio and performed in the local history theatre troupe, Heritage Players.
She leaves a loving legacy to her high-school sweetheart, husband and soulmate of 44 years, Robert Bock; their sons and daughters-in-law: Andrew and Ann Bock, Pulaski; Michael and Kristie Bock and grandson, Brady, Freedom; and son, Jeremy Bock, Pulaski. She is also survived by her brothers and their wives: Dan and Debbie Walker, Niagara, WI; Jeff and Julie Walker, Lafayette, LA; and John Walker, Tampa, Florida; her sister-in-law, Betty Bock, Aurora, WI; her aunt Nancy Norris, Aurora, WI; and several nieces, nephews, close friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Jeanette Walker; her sister, Jenny Lee; her brother, Michael; in-laws Albert E. and Margaret Bock and brother-in-law Albert A. Bock.
A celebration of Lee's life will be held on Saturday, April 4th at Arketype Inc., 612 Stuart St., Green Bay. Friends may pay their respects between 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial scholarship fund is being established. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com .

The Bock family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Jules Blank, Unity Hospice staff and caregivers and long-time friend and neighbor, Dennis Moeller.
