Edward W. Chizek, age 76, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at home, in the arms of his loving family. He was born June 15, 1935 son of the late Ladis and Mary (Knishka) Chizek. On October 24, 1959 he was united in marriage to Deloris Stephan, spending 52 years together. Ed worked as a DHI tester, when he started his dealership in 1966 with Surge. Together with his wife and family they built the family business, adding Jamesway in 1972 until his retirement in 2000. While in business he served on the Town board as treasurer for several years, after retirement he enjoyed his paper route, volunteered for the Green Bay Packers and Seymour Fair.
Ed enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and never missed the opportunity to attend various sporting events. He was their number one fan! He liked to travel, snowmobile, play cards, golf, bowl, NACAR races, driving cars for dealerships, sturgeon watching, swimming with the grandchildren, deer hunting with his son and granddaughter. Ed was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Black Creek and the Black Creek Trail Blazers. He enjoyed life to the fullest.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris; children: Edward (Barbara) Chizek, Allan (Carla) Chizek, Cindy (Jerome) Conradt, Sandy (Cary) Van Camp, Joy Hofacker; grandchildren: Elizabeth (Jason) Brunkey, William Chizek, Crystal and Johanna Chizek, Aaron, Jordan and Austin Conradt, Chiara and Chase Van Camp; great grandchildren: Lilyn and Ethan Brunkey; a sister, Dorothy (Michael) Tockey; sister-in-law, Agnes Chizek; brothers-in-law: Robert Schmidt, Tom (Pat) Stephan; mother-in-law, Florella Stephan
Preceded in death by grandson, Zachary Chizek; brother, William Chizek; sister, Cecilia (George) Winterstein; sister-in-law, Lorraine Schmidt; brothers-in-law: Billy (Shirley) Stephan, Donald (Betsy) Stephan; father-in-law, William Stephan
