Edward Paul Lorenz Sr., 78, of Seymour, passed away at his home on Friday, April 23, 2021 with his family by his side. Ed was a kind and gentle man and loved by many. He was born March 15, 1943, son of the late Alroy and Alma (Rummel) Lorenz. Ed graduated from Wabeno High School and served his country for 3 years in the Army while stationed in Germany. He was a member of the American Legion Club Post 106 in Seymour and a past member of the Nichols Fire Department. Ed worked at Kimberly Clark for 25 years and retired April 1, 2003.
On October 25, 1965 he was united in marriage to Ruth Pakulski for 43 years. She preceded him in death on November 2, 2008. On October 16, 2010, he married Marilyn Seidl. Ed was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where he was able to enjoy his church family and participate in many service activities. He was an "Old Car Buff" and rebuilt a 64 Chevy Impalla to show at car shows and just enjoyed joyriding in it. His love of hunting took him to the Navarino Hunting grounds with his son Eddie Jr. He also loved fishing and made sure he was out there to get a few walleyes in the Wolf and Shioc. Rivers in the Spring. Ed also enjoyed 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, and spending time with family and special friends.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Seidl-Lorenz; Sons: Edward Jr. (Patty) and their children Autumn and Ava, Shiocton; Mark and children Jessie and Maria and their mom Kirsten, Germany; His extended family: Teri True, Shawano, Patti (Russ) Stingle, Black Creek, Cindy (Randy) Samson, Seymour, Debra (Tom Woulf) Seidl, Suring, Katie Collins, West Bloomfield: additional grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is further survived by his siblings: Marilyn Rocolle, Wabeno; Ellen Lorenz, Waupaca; Betty Winchell, Massena N.Y; Ray Lorenz, California; Pauline Lynch, Apache Junction, Arizona and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Ed's life will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 1, 2021 with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Ty Stoneburner officiating. Burial will take place at Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Military honors to follow at the cemetery.
