Eleanor Kasten Loos, age 98 of Appleton and formerly of Seymour passed away early Tuesday, Morning May 24, 2011 at Cherry Meadows Hospice with her children by her side. She was born March 17, 1913 in Appleton, daughter of the late William and Ella (Abel) Kasten.
Eleanor was united in married to Walter Loos in Seymour. He preceded her in death in 1971.
Eleanor was a 1931 graduate of Seymour High School and attended Kaukauna Normal School in 1932. She also attended the University of Oshkosh and taught in one room schools in Seymour, Black Creek and surrounding area.
Eleanor was the oldest life member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school. She was a charter member of the Outagamie County Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include her children: a son David Loos, Appleton, and a daughter Janice Krahn, Appleton; a granddaughter Melissa Krahn, Oconomowoc, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by parents, her husband Walter and son-in-law Lee Krahn.
Friends may call Friday, May 27, 2011 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour from 3:30 PM until funeral services at 5:00 PM with Pastor Roland Lindeman officiating, burial in the Parish Cemetery. On Line condolences may be made at www.muehlboettcher.com
