Elizabeth "Betty" Maufort, age 88, passed away at Cherry Meadows with family by her side on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Betty was born on December 5, 1934 a daughter of the late George and Agnes (Gerrits) Schreurs.
She was united in marriage to Leonard Maufort on April 19, 1955 in Wrightstown. He preceded her in death on March 27, 2021.
Betty had a strong faith and was proud to be a part of the Christian Mother's group for many years at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Black Creek. She also taught religious education in the parish to countless children.
She enjoyed bowling with Leonard and her good friends. Attending the many 4-H functions, sporting events of the grandchildren, and attending craft shows was some of the things that she enjoyed the most.
Betty was a farmer's wife, a wonderful homemaker, and a fabulous cook. She always made sure that her friends and family where well cared for. In addition to being on the farm and taking care of her family, she had also worked for Outagamie Producers Co-Op for several years. Her grandchildren were always near and dear to her heart.
Betty is survived by her children: Richard (Cindy) Maufort of De Pere; Russell (Julie) Maufort of Appleton, Christine Spranger of Greenville; and Mary Maufort of Appleton; grandchildren: Rikki, Toni, Stephanie, Richard Jr., Justin, Taralee, Michelle, Laura, Nicole, and Eric; 21 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jean Nohr; and other family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; grandson Steven Maufort; brother, Gordon Schreurs; and an infant sister.
