SEIDL, ELMER "BABE"

Elmer "Babe" Seidl, age 91 passed away peacefully on Friday morning, April 17, 2009 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home. He was born April 6, 1918 to the late Joseph and Emma (Kuntze) Seidl. On November 29, 1941 he married Eleanor Oskey at St. John's Catholic Church in Seymour.
Elmer was in the body shop business for 34 years before retiring. He worked for Harold Maass seven years before starting his own business, Seidl Body Shop. He went into the Army Air Force in 1943 till 1945. Elmer was an Alderman of Seymour for 14 years, fire department for 29 years and the Rescue Squad. He was also a member of the Seymour American Legion, the V.F.W. and the Seymour Lions Club. In May of 1979 Elmer was chosen Citizen of the Year. He enjoyed golfing, Packer games and playing cribbage.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; his children: Ron (Pat) Seidl, Seymour; Sue (Bob) Schreiber, Green Bay; grandchildren: Paul, Robby, Cassie, Tim, John, Mary, Pat and Kathleen; great-grandchildren: Brandon, Tyler, Emily, Brilee, Dominic, Brianna, Abby, Emily, Jack and Logan.
Elmer was preceded in death by brothers: Walter, Joe, Richard, Bill, Leo (Spence), Lenard (Butch); sisters: Verona Lagers and Dorothy Koepp.
Friends may call at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour on Monday, April 20, 2009 from 4 PM until services at 7 PM with Pastor Roland Lindeman officiating. Military rites to follow service at church.
