Elton Lorenz

Elton W. Lorenz, age 88, of Shiocton passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at Rennes Health in Appleton. He was born April 4, 1929, son of the late Alvin and Meta (Diedrich) Lorenz.

On August 5, 1950, he was united in marriage to Doris Mary Werner at St. Edwards in Mackville and the couple celebrated 63 years together. Doris preceded him in death on March 1, 2014.

Elton and Doris began building their homestead and continued to work together raising their family, taking care of the farm, and hauling milk for many years. Elton began hauling milk by the can and later began bulk hauling, having hauled milk for over 60 years. He was proud of his homestead, but most importantly, was very proud of his children.

He is survived by his children: Patricia (Lloyd) Tesch, Eagle River; Dennis (Sally) Lorenz, Seymour; Kathleen (Ron) Guyette, Black Creek; Gordon (Diana) Lorenz, Shiocton; Harold (Tammy) Lorenz, Shiocton; Debra (Gary) Blohm, Seymour; Sandra (Joe) Gitter, New London; and Christine (Vernon) Stedjee, Shiocton; 27 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and one more expected; daughter-in-law, Lisa Rossi, Kentucky; sisters-in-law: Roberta Lorenz, Black Creek; Marcella Schwahn, Kimberly; and Evelyn Krueger, Appleton; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Peter; son, Gerald; brothers: Earl and Ralph Lorenz.

Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 4 to 8 pm. Visitation will continue at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Navarino on Thursday, May 4, 2017, from 9:30 am until the funeral mass at 11 am with Father Theodore Hendricks officiating. Burial will take place at South Cicero Cemetery.
