Emmet J. Mullen, age 95, of Seymour, passed away Monday morning, October 7, 2013. He was born November 25, 1918 son of the late Christopher and Mae (Fries) Mullen. On February 18, 1941 he was united in marriage to Lucille Vercauteren. She preceded him in death in 1982.
Emmet farmed in the Town of Oneida. He also was employed with Menominee Sugar Company for 27 years. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Knights for over 59 years.
He is survived by his children: Alice (Lawrence) Goffard, Townsend; Helen (Ralph) Goffard, Appleton; Robert (Patricia) Mullen, Menasha; Jerome (Janice) Mullen, Green Bay; Norbert Mullen (special friend Bev), Oconto Falls; Alvin (Bonnie) Mullen, Oneida ; Marlene Raasch, Green Bay; Mary Le Mere (special friend Lester Hein), Suamico ; Jean (Bruce) Beno, Ashwaubenon; 36 grandchildren ; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren ; one sister, LaRose Vanden Langenberg; one brother Kenneth Mullen; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Marcella Vande Hei, Rosemary Vande Hei and Carol (Donald) Vanden Elzen, Adele Vercauteren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lucille, a son John Mullen, sons-in-law: Thomas Raasch, Ronald Le Mere; former daughter-in-law Linda Mullen; mother-in-law and father-in-law August and Minnie Vercauteren; sister Jean (Richard) Vande Hei; brothers: Roman (Myrtle) and Eben (Gertrude); sisters-in-law Elsie Mullen ; brothers-in-law: Bernard "Babe" Vanden Langenberg, Clarence Vande Hei, Alvin Vande Hei, Raphael (Doris) Vercauteren, Eleanor (Alvin) Goffard ; special friend Fern Van Lanen.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and visitation will continue on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Seymour with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating. Burial will take place at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Oneida.
