Esther Grunwaldt, age 100 passed away Friday, October 10, 2008 at Cherry Meadows in Appleton. Esther was born September 8, 1908 in the Village of Black Creek, the daughter of the late Charles and Emma (DeWall) Meier. She was united in marriage to Minard "Porky" Grunwaldt on December 21, 1929 sharing 60 years together before his death in 1989. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Black Creek.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law: James (Jo) Grunwaldt, Menasha; Roy (Valarie) Grunwaldt, Wisconsin Rapids; Jack (Carolin) Grunwaldt, Black Creek; one daughter and son-in-law: Betty (Fred) Lemke, Shawano; one daughter-in-law, Beverly Grunwaldt, Sequin, WA; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a sister Zetta Little, Shiocton
In addition to her husband and parents, Esther was preceded in death by one son, Lee; one granddaughter, Nancy Grunwaldt; three sisters and four brothers-in-law; Laura (Ervin) Rohloff, Elma (Royce) Locke, Billie (Earl) Pasch and Don Little.
Friends may call at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Black Creek on Sunday, October 12, 2008 from 4 PM until 6 PM. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday, October 13, 2008 from 9:30 AM until funeral services at 11 AM with Pastor Steve Schlicht officiating. Entombment at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
