Evangeline "Eva" M. Stephani, 77, of Seymour passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015. She was born May 5, 1938 the first child of the late George and Marcella (Wenninger) Samson. She graduated from Seymour High School in 1956 and married Bernard Stephani on June 7, 1958 in Seymour. Bernie preceded her in death on November 23, 2007.
Eva was active in 4-H, having been the main leader of the Lucky Leaf 4-H Club. She was also a longtime member of the homemaker's club. Eva and Bernie operated the Countryside Cafe in Black Creek for 13 years. She enjoyed crocheting, working on a project nearly every day.
She is survived by two children: Jerry (Janet) Stephani of Seymour, and JoAnn (Dan) Green of Seymour; grandchildren: Amber (fiancAC. Dan Pontow) Stephani and Vicki (Adam Hoffman) Stephani, and Steve and Mike Green; great-grandchild, Mason Hoffman. Further survived by a sister, Mary (Fred) Woodke; sister-in-law, Judy Samson; brothers-in-law, Tom (Louise) Stephani and Fred Stoeger. She is also survived by aunts, an uncle, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Eva was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Samson; and sister-in-law, Doris Stoeger.
Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 4 pm to 8 pm with a parish prayer service at 7 pm. Visitation will continue at St. John Catholic Church, Seymour on Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 9:30 am until the mass of Christian burial at 11 am with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating.
